Flintlock 2026
Under the auspices of AFRICOM, the First Border Sector and various Libyan Army units engaged in Exercise Flintlock 2026 in Sirte. This multilateral training event featured military units from 30 nations.

Prime Minister Abdul Hamid Dbeibeh conducted an official visit to the historic Al-Saddadah Fortress and the First Border Sector headquarters. The visit focused on the following key areas:
Field Inspection: Accompanied by the Deputy Minister of Defense, the PM assessed the readiness of border guard units, praising their vital role in national security and infrastructure protection.
Municipal Meeting: He held an expanded meeting with mayors and leaders from the central region (including Bani Walid, Tawergha, and others) to address local needs in the health, education, and infrastructure sectors.
Development Commitment: The PM reaffirmed the government's commitment to the fair distribution of projects, highlighting the central region as a strategic hub for national development.
Historical Tribute: To conclude the visit, he honored the martyrs of the 1923 Battle of Al-Saddadah against Italian colonization, reciting Al-Fatiha at their memorial.
